EVENT SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS for the EXTREME HANGOUT COP28 DUBAI 3rd to 12th December
Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to make a difference? We are Seeking volunteers to help and support the Extreme Hangout Team at COP28 in Dubai from the 2nd to the 12th of December 2023.

UAE will host the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai on 30 Nov to 12 Dec 2023.The COP28 summit will bring global leaders and organisations together to accelerate action towards the goal of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Inspired by our love of adventure sports, the natural world and our passion to protect the planet, EXTREME International established The Extreme Hangout as a climate action events platform in 2021 with the vision to give young changemakers a voice, popularise the climate movement and inspire environmental action.

Young changemakers want their voices heard and have little participation in the formal proceedings. EXTREME has made it its mission to give them a seat at the table and a platform for their voice to be heard.
From 3rd – 12th December 2023, some of the world’s leading organisations & individuals will join us to inspire & drive debate, discussion & action. This is jointly managed & curated with our sponsors, NGOs, and supporters.

About The Opportunity to Volunteer:
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our Extreme Hangout team as Event Support Volunteers at COP28. As an Event Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the event and creating a positive experience for all attendees. You can choose to volunteer for the full duration of the event or for specific days that suit your availability.
Event Name: EXTREME Hangout COP28
Duration: 2nd to 12th December 2023
Location: Green Zone, Al Forsan Park, Dubai Expo City
Availability: Full-time or part-time during the event days
Commitment: Volunteers can choose to support the event for all 11 days or select specific days based on their availability and preference.
What you will be helping with:

The event set-up, including venue preparation, signage, and equipment setup.

The takedown of event spaces, ensuring they are visually appealing and well-organized.

Coordination of Speakers in between sessions
-
Act as the timekeeper during different sessions of the event, ensuring that scheduled activities and presentations run according to the planned timeline.

Managing and directing attendees, providing them with information, assisting with any inquiries and ushering them to designated areas.

Assist the video production team in setting up and operating equipment, such as cameras, lighting, sound systems etc.

Assist in managing queues, ensuring crowd control, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Supporting event organisers in administrative tasks, such as registration, and ticketing.

Capture photos and videos of exciting event moments to fuel social media content creation.

Act as a positive ambassador for the Extreme Hangout, promoting its key messages and goals to attendees.

Collaborate with the event team to ensure the smooth execution of various activities and programs.
Who we are looking for:

People with a passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to contribute to its promotion.

Living near Al Forsan Park, Dubai

Friendly and outgoing people with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with event attendees and provide them with valuable information.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from event organizers.

Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility towards assigned duties.

Prior experience in event support or similar roles is beneficial but not mandatory.

Inspired by our love of the outdoors, adventure sports and our passion to protect the planet, Extreme International established The Extreme Hangout as an events sustainability impact platform to give young people a voice around climate issues and drive environmental action.
Launched in 2021 The Extreme Hangout became a leading fringe event at COP26 in Glasgow. We took over a repurposed ferry on the River Clyde, created a hub and delivered 11 days of inspiring conferences and evening entertainment. Over 6000 people came to hear and be motivated by more than 200 incredible speakers from Bear Grylls to Lily Cole, all of which delivered 5 million video impressions off the live stream and video on demand service.
