“It doesn’t matter how much you know or how far along on your climate journey you are, as long as you care! It all helps no matter how small our impacts are.” Georgi (Extreme Hangout Soho attendee)
The Extreme Hangout Soho brought together an enthusiastic group of young climate-focussed individuals in an intimate setting in the Ocean Bottle HQ in Soho Square.
Inspiring speakers, curated from different sectors shared their experiences and insights on how within their respective careers or day-to-day activities they have included sustainability. For many of the attendees, hearing about the career options within the industry or how they could incorporate sustainability within their current job roles was the eye-opener.
“Today has highlighted the wide variety of job roles connected to solving the climate crisis. And has made me think I should probably do more,” shared Andrew, another of the event’s attendees.
Speakers at the event included;
- Jodi-Ann Wang (Climate Specialist at the UN's PRI)
- Jack Johnson (Founder of Climate Vanguard)
- Sylver Eulalee Mair (Fashion Show Coordinator and student at CSM)
- Joe Davies (Climate Diplomacy Desk Officer for the FCDO)
The Running Out Of Time Relay baton, which has been visiting some of the coolest and most inspiring climate action projects around the UK, also made a special appearance thanks to Dan Thompson and James Hay - lots of photo opportunities here📸 🤳. Whereas the wonderful Words of Meraki: Debbi Oweyole, empowered the audience through spoken word.
